THE 'COSTA MAGICA' DOCKED AT THE INVERGORDON DEEP WATER PORT ON SUNDAY 5th JUNE 2011

Arrived at around 0730 and departed at 1900 destination unknown. This cruise ship
has a gross tonnage of 105,000 tons and carries a crew of 1,027 and a passenger
capacity of 2,720. Other notable statistics are 890 ft (271m) in length with 13 decks
and can cruise at 20 knots ( 37km/h, 23 mph). Lots of the passengers go on bus
tours to various attractions in the surrounding area like Distillery visits, Urquhart
Castle at Loch Ness and days out at Inverness etc. during the 1 day stopover.

THIS OBELISK STANDS ON THE SHORELINE AT CROMARTY IN THE 'BLACK ISLE'

This photo was taken as a series of shots from bottom to top since if the picture was
taken at a distance to encompass the whole monument the text would be unreadable.
The series of shots was then assembled and the result is displayed here. In the large
picture, centre the monument with the bottom scrollbar and then use the side scrollbar
to move up and down to read the engraved text.
